Research tells us that one random act of kindness leads to others doing random acts of kindness. I have talked before about how simple it is to show kindness to others in your day. Kindness can be as easy as smiling at someone or holding the door open. Schools are a great place to foster kindness and it is so important that we teach kids how to be kind to one another. More importantly, the number one thing we can do as teachers is treat our students with kindness and respect. This creates a warm, safe and supportive environment for learning and growing.
Tomorrow I will be participating in the South Okanagan’s 2nd annual Random Acts of Kindness Day. Last year they performed 10 000 Random Acts of Kindness and this year the goal is 15 000.
